Double page spread research

Music magazines will do a double page spread on the artist/artists they have on their front cover, it is usually towards the beginning of the magazine. Conventionally double page spreads have a photo of the artist/artists on the right hand side and the article on the left side, it's very rare for the main image to be on the left hand side but some magazines have done it. Sometimes the picture flows over to the other page. In some magazines the article of the front cover artist runs on a few pages (4-6). Some double-page spreads are question and answer articles or they are just a piece of writing about them. They all have a pull quote from the article on the page some where, and often  have a few lines describing the article or saying something about the artist at the top of the page.

Here are some existing double page spreads from magazines. Most of them have their main image on the right hand side, some of them flow into the other page, some of them have a pull quote so its clear that double page spreads can change how they're set out quite a lot.
